The General Surgeon will provide comprehensive elective and emergency surgical care at Metema General Hospital for refugees and host communities.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from recognized university
- Postgraduate specialization in Surgery
- Valid professional registration and license in Ethiopia
- Minimum 3 years post-specialization clinical experience
- Willingness to work at Metema General Hospital
Duties
- Execute emergency and elective general surgical operations
- Lead surgical triage and resuscitation of trauma patients
- Conduct daily ward rounds in surgical and ICU units
- Manage pre-operative evaluations and post-operative recovery
- Run specialized surgical outpatient department clinics
- Determine need for tertiary referrals for complex cases
- Provide clinical mentorship to hospital staff
- Maintain accurate clinical records and safety standards
- Promote effective use of surgical equipment and supplies
